Democrats win House Race in...Mississippi?
Third special election victory in a row. This is after winning former House Speaker Dennis Hastert's open seat in Illinois and another open House seat in Northern Louisiana a few weeks ago, both a pretty deep shade of red.

This district voted for Bush over Kerry 62% to 38%. Yes, Travis Childers is definitely a conservative Democrat, but to win at all in the Deep South where Democrats have been pretty uncompetitive for decades, much less two back to back special election victories, is quite an accomplishment.

Moreover, this shows endlessly linking a random Democrat with Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi and other scaaaaryyy liberals is not going to work. Yeah, and you know they aren't going to run on the issues on which they are so profoundly out of step with the American people. What else do they have left to run on?

If Republicans are losing seats as red as this, it's going to be a bloodbath in November. Democrats now hold a 236-199 majority in the House.

UPDATE: The NRCC spent $3 million or 20% of its cash-on-hand defending these 3 house seats. They were already suffering from a massive cash disadvantage.
