Most of us have been keeping track of the latest Wyoming results in today's caucuses, but surely some would be interested to know that the special election to fill Dennis Hastert's seat took place today. Hastert, of course, served as the Speaker of the House until January of last year, when Nancy Pelosi took over the position. In 2004, George W. Bush won the Illinois 14th by almost 12 points, and Hastert held his seat for more than 20 years. He resigned in November of last year, and the seat has been vacant since then.
Tonight, Democrat Bill Foster defeated Republican Jim Oberweis for control of Hastert's former seat. The Beacon News has called the race for Foster with ten precincts (of 568) left to go (they'll probably all be in once you read this), and we can now welcome another Democrat to the House of Representatives.

Another Democrat, another superdelegate for Obama.
I looked up Bill Foster's bio. Apparently, he was born in Madison and is a UW-Madison alum. Sweet!
