Don't believe the hype you hear about a temporary "surge" of troops into Iraq for one last "final push" to try to stem the violence in Baghdad. The surge is really an escalation. In other words, they're going to be there as long as the rest of the military. Aka as long as it takes to achieve "victory."
This was confirmed by Bill Kristol, an editor of the Weekly Standard and a leading neoconservative on Fox News Sunday this weekend. This is a powerful man, he has the president's ear. Yes, 30,000 troops is far too little too late, but this is what the president is going to try to do. Guess what? If he pulls it off, this strategy is going to fail, yet again.
You heard it here first, folks!
