As someone who has been raped, it angers me that some overprotective Fond du Lac parents think that, by banning Angelou's book from schools, their children will be sheltered from the horrors of real life. Stop pretending that rape doesn't exist! Books like these truthfully describe the evil act, and perhaps even deter future crimes.
I thank Peg for fighting for not only the literary quality of our public school system but also for opening ignorant people's eyes to LIFE.
