You may have noticed embryonic stem cell research is a big issue in this gubernatorial election. You also may have noticed that Governor Doyle has a very strong record on supporting pro-research legislation, while there has been mixed information floating around as to Representative Green's support. Our camp claims he's opposed to embryonic stem cell research, while the Congressman's camp claims to be a big supporter of stem cell research. To put the debate to rest once and for all, I present Congressman Green's voting record which won't lie, but calls into questions the statements coming from the Green camp.

- The stem cell "plan" introduced by Congressman Green last month isn't backed by science and has been panned by editorial boards around the state. I also posted this comment on Watchdog Milwaukee: Mark Green is obviously out of step with the majority of the country on Embryonic Stem Cell Research. 68% of the Country favor expanding Federal Funding of Embryonic Stem Cell Research. [NBCNews, Wall Street Journal Poll July 21-24 2006] HR 810 limited federal funds to research on human embryos slated to be destroyed by fertility clinics. Since Mark Green is concerned about killing these embryos, he must be searching for women to implant these embryos to save the embryos life.
