Hey everyone! As the LGBT Caucus works hard the remainder of this semester to get the ball rolling on repealing the gay marriage ban here in the state of Wisconsin, I thought this would be a fantastic opportunity to see what fellow students thought about the institution of marriage. A friend posted this set of questions on one of my other forums, and since I felt they aptly addressed many of the most pressing topics surrounding marriage, I figured they would serve as excellent discussion starters for this thread:
1) Your age?
2) Do you plan on getting married?
3) Are you going to have any sort of cohabitation?
4) Do you think cohabitation helps to avoid divorces, or increase the chances of divorce? Explain why.
5) Do you think love is essential for marriage? Explain why.
6) Do you plan on having children? If so, why, and how many?
Feel free to copy-paste and explain!

I feel like I’m filling out one of those old Myspace quizzes…:)
1) 20
2) Perhaps
3) I think its a smart idea. Know what you’re getting into.
4) I know statistically its been shown that people who live together before marriage are more likely to get a divorce, but I’m fairly certain thats a spurious correlation and that people who are more likely to abstain from cohabitation are probably more staunchly anti-divorce. Like I said, I’d like to know what I’m getting into.
5) Well, why else would you marry someone?
6) Nope, no children, for just oh so many reasons…
